Carla Lalli Music got into the food business as a line cook and worked her way up through the back and front of house at some of NYC’s most acclaimed restaurants. As Rocco DiSpirito’s Director of Operations, she launched a line of branded food products and cookware and in 2005, she became the first General Manager at Danny Meyer’s original Shake Shack, where she oversaw exponential growth, garnered press from around the world, and created over 100 original new menu items.

In 2009, Carla made the switch to magazines. Now features editor at the newly revamped Bon Appétit, she loves discovering new edibles and trends, and works closely with the magazine’s food team to develop crave-worthy recipes.
